Hello, my name is James White and im a freelance website developer from Nottingham, England. I am passionate about creating clean, fresh looking and most of all valid website layouts, I recongise Web standards and conform to them as I strongly believe that any good website developer should follow standards.
Coding to web standards
Anyone can use HTML and CSS but not every website created validates to web standards. These standards are set by the W3C and I am a strong follower of these standards. Following them allows a website to be:
- Semanticly coded
- Optimized for faster performance in browsers
- Valid to standards set by the W3
All of this is vital for websites in todays world if you want a website that is optimized for the World Wide Web. You can read more about what I do for you on the about page.
I've always had general interest in Information Technology (I.T) but I've always had a massive interest in website development. I got my first taste of websites when I looked at HTML in secondary school, it was only basic HTML code but I was fascinated by the code and began to look at HTML in more depth in my free time. I basically spent several months simply looking at and using HTML code, creating HTML pages to test what certain HTML code does, this was my starting point towards website development. After looking at HTML I discovered CSS and started incorporating styling into the HTML I had learnt, from there I self taught myself the HTML and CSS with the help of articles on tutorials from various tutorial websites.
What can I do?
I can create clean, valid and presentable websites using XHTML and CSS.
